This weekend was the conclusion of another NFLCombine/Draftseason. The NFL Draft was held this past Saturday and Sunday at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The draft is an agonizing time in which prospective athletes wait in hopes of getting their name called as one of the 255 picks selected by one fo the 32 NFL Franchises.
The Draft is influenced by an athlete's college career, their Combine and Pro Day Scores, their physical makeup, their character, their injury history, and their visits with NFL teams. With all this data, teams then make a selection on who they would like as a member of their team next year.
Since 2001, the Parisi Speed School has had 127 athletes drafted into the NFL. This includes the 10 picks that were selected from our program this weekend. As usual with our program, numerous of our athletes picked definitively enhanced their draft status through their combine and pro day performances. Most notably were Jason Williams (who didnt even go to the Combine, but got draftedin the 3rd round after running the fastest Linebacker 40 in the nation at 4.4), Deon Butler (who ran 4.31 and jumped into the 3rd round) and Lawrence Sidbury (another small school athlete that ran 4.53 at 270 pounds and shocked the combine). When looking at the list below, you will also notice that many of the schools were small schools. This is another testament to the results that these athletes achieved.
Below is the list of all the picks this year. They join other Parisi athletes such as Pro Bowlers Leon Washington, Owen Daniels and Osi Umenyora as well as NFL Standouts like Dunta Robinson and D'Qwell Jackson on our list of future stars.
